What the Mineral Bath Is Doing — Beyond Relaxation

The mineral bath is warm water immersion in a solution of pharmaceutical-grade magnesium sulfate and trace minerals. The warm immersion produces direct peripheral vasodilation, bringing circulation to the distal joints and tissues that sedentary living and chronic tension chronically undersupply. Transdermal magnesium absorption — demonstrated in research to elevate serum magnesium measurably after extended immersion — supports muscle relaxation at the cellular level (magnesium is the mineral that allows muscle fibers to release after contraction), reduces the excitability of pain-sensitized nerves, and supports the hundreds of enzymatic processes that magnesium deficiency — present in an estimated 68% of Americans — impairs. The gravitational unloading of warm immersion reduces intradiscal pressure in the spine and compressive loading on arthritic joints in a way that no land-based therapy can replicate. The body that has been fighting gravity for sixteen hours gets an hour of genuine rest from that fight.

The Experience

What a Session Feels Like

The first minutes of mineral bath immersion are the most immediate experience of relief in the center. The spine decompresses. The shoulders drop. The held quality that chronic back and joint pain produces — the constant muscular vigilance around pain sites — begins to release within five minutes of warm immersion in a way that nothing else in the center matches for speed of onset.

The warmth is genuine and deep — not the surface heat of a hot tub but a penetrating mineral warmth that reaches the deeper musculature and the connective tissue around joints. Most clients with arthritis notice the morning-stiffness quality of their joint pain shifting within the first fifteen minutes — not eliminated, but changed in character in a way that signals the inflammatory environment is responding.

The forty-five minutes typically produces a level of physical relaxation clients describe as unusual — the specific quality of a body that has been released from load. Many clients arrive with pain levels they rate at six or seven out of ten and leave with levels they rate at two or three. The mineral absorption continues in the hours after the session — the post-bath magnesium elevation supports the sleep that so many chronic pain clients struggle with.

The Evidence

What the Research Shows

Evidence Base

Magnesium sulfate's transdermal absorption and its clinical effects are supported by research demonstrating elevated serum magnesium following extended warm immersion. Magnesium's role in muscle relaxation, nerve excitability, sleep regulation, and pain sensitivity is among the best-established in mineral biochemistry. The circulatory effects of warm immersion on peripheral joints — improving synovial fluid dynamics and cartilage nutrition — have specific evidence in arthritis research. Balneotherapy (mineral bath therapy) has a substantial European clinical evidence base for rheumatic conditions, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue.

Stacking Modalities

What to Expect in a Session

The mineral bath is the most effective preparation for other joint-targeting and neuromuscular modalities — the tissue it softens and the circulation it improves amplifies everything that follows.

PEMF

The mineral bath improves the circulatory delivery of PEMF's cellular effects; PEMF reduces the inflammatory environment the bath has opened the joints to addressing.

Contrast Therapyto wear

Adding cold plunge after the mineral bath creates a full contrast protocol — the warm phase of the mineral bath followed by cold produces the full vascular exercise effect.

Russian Muscle Stimulation

Russian stimulation works on muscles the mineral bath has already softened — the combination reaches deep muscles with significantly less resistance.

Zero Gravity Chair

Both achieve gravitational unloading through different mechanisms. Together they provide the most complete spinal decompression available.

Red Light

Red light supports cellular repair at the joint level; the mineral bath improves the circulatory delivery that cellular repair depends on.

BioWaveGo

Pain signal interruption after the mineral bath — when the inflammatory environment has been partially addressed — produces more complete pain relief than either alone.

The Grounding Trio: What a Mineral Soak Gives You

Soothe

Goes straight to the source of "tight" muscles and "knotty" shoulders to help them finally let go.

Ground

Pulls your energy down from your head and back into your body, making you feel steady and centered.

Replenish

Feeds your skin and nervous system the essential minerals that stress and daily life strip away.

The Deep Softening: The Shift You Feel After Each Session

That "stiff" feeling in your neck and lower back simply dissolves. Your body feels soft, loose, and completely at ease.

The mental chatter stops. The "weight" of your to-do list fades away, replaced by a peaceful, heavy silence.

Like a battery being recharged, you feel a sense of solid, sturdy energy returning to your bones.

The minerals help clear up irritation and dryness, leaving your skin feeling hydrated and incredibly smooth to the touch.

It’s not the "exhaustion" of stress, but the healthy, relaxed tiredness that leads to the best sleep of your life.

As the warm minerals work, your chest opens up and your breathing moves from your throat down into your belly.

Your Mineral Bath Experience: Why We Brought This to You

We introduced the Mineral Bath because we live in a "high-voltage" world. We are constantly "up in our heads," stressed, and physically depleted.

This therapy is the ultimate way to "land." It’s based on the core truth that our bodies are made of the same minerals as the earth, and when we get low on them, we feel anxious, achy, and thin.

When you step into the bath, the warmth hits you first, but the minerals do the real work. You aren't just sitting in water; you are sitting in a concentrated "liquid rest."

As you soak, your pores open up and drink in the magnesium and salts, which naturally tell your nervous system to "stand down." It’s a private, sacred time to stop doing and start being. You’ll emerge feeling heavier in your body but lighter in your spirit.

Pure, Private, and Potent: Why Our Soak is Unmatched

High-Concentration Mineral Blends

We don't just use a "sprinkle" of salt. Our baths are saturated with the exact levels of minerals needed to actually cross the skin barrier and work.

The "No-Distraction" Sanctuary

Your soak happens in a space designed for total sensory peace—no phones, no bright lights, just the sound of water and the feeling of relief.

Temperature Precision

We keep the water at the "sweet spot" where it’s warm enough to open your pores but not so hot that it drains your energy.

Your First Time in the Mineral Bath

What to wear

This is your private time. Most guests prefer to soak without clothing to let the minerals touch every inch of skin.

Session length

We recommend 30 to 40 minutes. Any longer and your skin starts to prune; any shorter and the minerals can't fully soak in.

Temperature

The water feels "thicker" and silkier than a normal bath. You’ll feel a gentle "heavy" sensation as your muscles begin to unlock.

How you’ll feel

You will feel very relaxed and perhaps a bit "floaty" or dreamy. This is the magnesium calming your brain.

After your session

Don't rinse off the minerals immediately! Let them sit on your skin for a bit. Pat dry gently and move slowly.

Tip:

Drink a full glass of water before you get in. Mineral baths help you detox, and being hydrated makes the process much smoother.

The Body Has Been Carrying the Weight of Gravity Since Morning. Let It Rest.

The mineral bath is available on Restore pass and above — or as a standalone addition. One of the most immediately effective modalities in the center for joint pain, muscle tension, and the particular fatigue that rest alone cannot address.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. A standard hot tub uses chlorinated water at temperatures designed for social comfort. The mineral bath uses pharmaceutical-grade magnesium sulfate and trace minerals in a clean solution maintained at therapeutic temperature — 98–104°F — specifically calibrated for transdermal mineral absorption and joint decompression.

For most skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis, the mineral bath is beneficial — the magnesium and anti-inflammatory mineral solution supports skin barrier function and reduces inflammation. For clients with open wounds or active skin infections, the mineral bath is contraindicated until the skin has healed.

Research on transdermal magnesium absorption from extended warm immersion shows measurable elevation of serum magnesium — typically around 35% above baseline after a 20-minute bath at therapeutic concentration. Given that the majority of the population is magnesium-deficient, even partial correction through transdermal absorption produces clinically meaningful effects on muscle function, sleep, and nerve excitability.

Warm baths in general require caution during pregnancy due to core temperature elevation risks. The mineral bath at our therapeutic temperatures warrants discussion with your obstetrician before use during pregnancy. In the third trimester particularly, we recommend medical clearance.

The concentration of minerals we use is much higher than what you can typically get from a bag of store-bought salts. Plus, our water is filtered and free of the chemicals found in tap water.

Yes, it very likely will! Magnesium is nature's "chill pill." We recommend booking this later in the day or on a day when you don't have to rush back to work.

Definitely. Mineral soaks are famous for helping with things like psoriasis, eczema, and general skin "thirst." It calms redness and helps the skin heal itself.

The minerals we use are natural and generally very soothing. However, if you have open cuts or a specific salt allergy, please let us know first.

Warm baths (not hot) can be wonderful for pregnancy aches, but you must keep the temperature safe. Always check with your doctor before booking a soak.

Just yourself. We provide high-quality robes, towels, and a space to slowly transition back to the real world after your soak.
